RANGELEY LAKES SNOWMOBILE CLUB

NEWSLETTER

June 2001

As usual at this time of the year, there is not much news in the way of snowmobiling.    Now we can only start looking forward to next winter and hope for the same abundant snowfall we had this year.

This is the last newsletter until September, however, you will be hearing from the Club with news regarding the swap meet we will be hosting in September.  The Committee is working on plans for this event.  If anyone wishes to sell an item (not only snowmobiles), please write to the club at the above address and let us know.  The cost of space has not yet been determined but this will be decided shortly.  Information will be mailed to all members soon.  Along with the swap meet, there will be an antique snowmobile display and other activities.  Suggestions from our members for other activities would certainly be appreciated.

The May membership meeting was held on May 12th.  Julie Ferguson prepared the meal and again, it was delicious.  Thank you Julie for your time and work.

Easy Bucks Winners at the May meeting were Gregg Silloway (for the third time!!) and Don Dumont (for the second time).  Neither were present, they each won $50.00.

The June meeting will be held on June 9th.  Karen Worcester and club secretary will be preparing the meal.  The tentative menu is lasagna, garlic bread, salad and desert.  As usual, the meeting will be held at the Congregational Church at the Corner of Pleasant and High Streets in Rangeley with social hour at 5:30 PM, dinner at 6:30, meeting to follow.   Election of Officers will be held at the June meeting and this is the last membership meeting for this season.  The next meeting will be held in September.

All members of the RLSC were mailed an invitation to our appreciation luncheon which will be held on June 10th at People’s Choice Restaurant.  Very few responses have been received.  Remember, if you plan to attend, please let us know.  We do need to give the restaurant a count by June 6th at the latest.  You can call Gail at 207-864-9047 if you don’t have time to respond by mail.  You can also let me know by e-mail (info@rangeleysnowmobile.com)

Several changes are in the works for next season.  We will be offering advertising on our web page to businesses;  a new and much improved trail map is in the works;  as usual, there will be changes in the trail system, it happens every season.

Not much news this month.  I hope you all have a safe and happy summer!

Until September……….
