RANGELEY LAKES SNOWMOBILE CLUB

Learn About RLSC NEWSLETTER

February 2005

RLSC Newsletter Past Issues

Finally, enough snow has fallen in Rangeley so the riding is very good. Hats off to the groomer drivers who have given their all to keep the small amount of snow we had groomed and in good shape and now that we have a little more snow, the riding is super! We got off to a slow start but predictions are for a snowy February and March, so I've been told. Keep your fingers crossed. Of course, our members from southern New England have had their share of snow plus ours. NOT FAIR!!!

IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR FEBRUARY MEMBERSHIP MEETING: The Date for the February meeting has been changed to February 19th. Please see the Events section for the meeting and notice the location change also.

Easy Bucks winners at the January meeting were Tom White of Magnolia, Delaware and Cheryl Durkee of Waldoboro, ME. Congratulations!

Snodeo is over and all went well. It was cold but not as bad as last year. Special thanks to Monika Taylor at the Clubhouse Restaurant and Lounge and Charles and Dominique at The Rangeley Inn for putting up with us all weekend. Thanks to everyone who volunteered at Snodeo, working the events, selling merchandise, etc. It's a lot of work to host an event the size of Snodeo, but it's fun and well worth the effort.

Results of Snodeo events are included with this newsletter.

The Snodeo 50/50 drawing was won by Ellen Franchetti of Manchester, Maine. Her winnings were $1,187.00 and she donated $300 back to the club.

Patrick O'Neil of Rangeley was the lucky winner of the Polaris 550 snowmobile we raffled off. Congratulations, Patrick!

Thanks to the Catholic Women's Club of Rangeley for hosting the turkey dinner on Friday night of Snodeo weekend. $2 from each meal served was donated to the Snowmobile Club and we received a check for $166.00. I was not able to attend the dinner but I heard it was a great meal!

The groomer barn is almost completed. The furnace in and running so the guys have a warm place to work on the equipment. Much deserved for those guys who spend their nights out on the trails to give us a good ride!

Enclosed you will find some information on the building fund and where stand right now. Please read this and if you have any comments, ideas, etc. to help raise more funds or any thoughts at all regarding this information, please let us know. We want to hear from you

If you choose to ride the lake, please be aware of several pressure ridges out there. Please ride with caution.

Until next month..........

Please visit our Sponsors page to check out businesses who have donated or pledged to donate to our grooming and trail maintenance program for this season. Be sure to patronize these businesses when in the area. It is due to their donations that we have the great riding conditions we all enjoy!
